After Irreducible Complexity, I was really interested in making hip-hop in different meters. As I was fiddling with the James Mason sample, I decided to change to 7/4 on a whim and chop the bongos up and reassemble. The same applied to the main guitar loop, but this time I wanted to have more vocal prominence, so I switched to 4/4 to more easily take advantage of the nice singing Jarrett lays down. Cue some snippets from a rather weak poem, and some beats and foundational synths, and there you have it.
